A few months on from Spicers acquisition of Spandex Australia, plans are now well underway to formally combine both Spicers Australia and Spandex Australia into a single integrated business, with implementation expected on or around early October 2026. Until then, customers will continue to be supported by their existing teams throughout the transition period, with the integration carefully managed to ensure continuity of service.

Darren Milligan, Executive General Manager of Spicers Australia confirms: “We have deliberately taken the time, since April to properly and carefully assess the best way to position the business for long-term success. And what has become clear is that together we are stronger than either business would be independently.”

“Bringing our businesses together will simplify how customers engage with us, while strengthening our ability to support them. Customers will benefit from easier access to a broader portfolio of leading brands, deeper technical expertise, and enhanced service and support.”

The integration will require organisational changes, necessarily resulting in some roles transitioning out of the business over the coming months.

Milligan adds: “We are confident that this integration will enable us to better serve all customer segments, by leveraging the strengths of both teams and their highly complementary portfolios. Delivering for our customers will remain our top priority.”
