Inkcups Launches Cobalt Pro+ CO2 Laser Machine
Inkcups, a global leader in the printing industry, has launched its newest laser plate-maker, the Cobalt Pro+. Replacing the Cobalt PRO, Inkcups’ highest wattage laser available in the Inkcups Cobalt line, the new Cobalt Pro+ lays claims to being up to 20% faster, enabling users to boost productivity, reduce turnaround times, and take on more work without compromising quality.
Ian Bedford, Senior Project Engineer, Inkcups, says: “The Cobalt range of laser plate-makers delivers fast, state-of-the-art plate-making and etching in a single system offering the flexibility of being able to create plates for pad printing and etch promotional products. With the introduction of the new Cobalt Pro+, users can now achieve results up to 20 percent faster, helping them to respond more quickly to customer demand and increase productivity without compromising quality.”
The Cobalt Pro+ is ideal for print shops or departments that require both laser etching and plate-making capabilities, offering both CO2 laser technology and an etching area of 460mm x 640mm (18×25”), and enabling etching of one large plate or multiple plates at once. Utilising CO2 laser technology, the laser plate-maker produces high-resolution graphics up to 1500dpi on a large variety of plates including DuraLaze and exposed polymer. In addition to creating plates for pad printing, the 30W laser can be used for engraving promotional products.
A closed-loop DC servo motor ensures greater continuous shaft power at higher speeds than competitive lasers and it also enables greater accuracy (0.254mm or 0.1%) due to the continuous movement. The AutoFocus operations control feature adjusts to the precise focal point on the engraving area, ensuring accurate results.
