Color-Logic certifies ColorByte ImagePrint UV RIP
Color-Logic, a leader in metallic colour systems and print embellishments, has certified the ColorByte ImagePrint UV RIP for use with the Color-Logic metallic colour system. The intuitive RIP integration and white ink linearisation of the ColorByte RIP simplifies the production of Color-Logic metallic colours and embellishments.
Mark Geeves, Director of Sales & Marketing Color-Logic, says: “ColorByte has done more than ensure that ImagePrint UV correctly supports Color-Logic embellishments. The company has developed an intuitive interface that makes the production process exceptionally simple for printers. Its white-ink linearisation capability also provides the control required to reproduce Color-Logic metallic colours and effects properly throughout the complete tonal range.”
For the certification, ColorByte submitted the official Color-Logic test form, produced on a Fluid Color UV inkjet printer using white plus CMYK inks on metallic stock. Testing confirmed that all Color-Logic metallic colours, decorative effects, and embellishments printed correctly. In addition to properly supporting Color-Logic embellishments, ColorByte has incorporated an intuitive Color-Logic interface directly into the ImagePrint UV RIP. This streamlined workflow eliminates the need for printers to perform special setup procedures or manually configure the RIP to print Color-Logic files. Operators simply bring the supplied PDF into the RIP and print.
The ColorByte ImagePrint UV RIP also offers white-ink linearisation capabilities. Precise control of white ink is essential when printing colour files on metallic substrates because the white ink determines how much of the metallic surface is revealed or suppressed. The ColorByte linearisation technology was shown to accurately and consistently reproduce Color-Logic metallic colours and effects across the entire tonal range of the file. Certification of the ColorByte ImagePrint UV RIP now provides print service providers using compatible UV inkjet printers with a tested, straightforward workflow for producing premium metallic applications and print embellishments.
