Tuesday, 29 June 2021 Pacprint 2021 to kick off with small business employment session The popular PacPrint Forum series of seminars will kick off on Tuesday 28 September with a morning session on Small Business Employment Matters from Charles Watson, GM for IR, Policy & Governance at The Real Media Collective. Charles specialises in workplace relations and human resource issues, including performance management, termination, workplace change, employment contracts, post-employment restraints, enterprise agreements, industrial disputes, company policies and internal investigations, and workplace litigation. He joined TRMC early last year to advise and represent the industry and individual Collective members across workplace, governance, legal and policy related issues. Now, visitors to PacPrint will be able to benefit from his expertise and experience. Sarah Moore, Business Development Manager for Visual Connections, which organises and co-hosts PacPrint, says the session is designed to give businesses crucial insights and understanding across a range of issues to help them ensure success while adhering to employment laws. “Charles is known for his practical and commercially-driven solutions and strategies, and in the Tuesday morning session, he’ll bring that pragmatism to bear on a range of employment issues facing SME’s, not only now but into next year,” she says. Issues to be covered in the session include: • Contracts of employment • Awards and related conditions • Casual employment • Compliance requirements • Legislative amendments • How to avoid common pitfalls “In addition, Charles has allowed time at the conclusion of the session for what he calls an ‘Ask Me Anything’ question time,” Sarah adds, “and he’s made it clear he’s happy to also make himself available to business owners after the seminar, for those who may need a more detailed discussion on these, or related issues.” The PacPrint Forum Series will run daily at PacPrint 2021, which will co-locate with Visual Impact Melbourne and the Label & Packaging Expo at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre from 28 September to 1 October this year.
