Brother launches first Latex Wide Format Printer

After more than 15 successful years in the field of industrial garment printing, Brother is using its experience in the printing business to enter the market in a new area with the latex wide format printer WF1-L640.

The printer is designed for a large range of applications such as banners, drawings, window graphics, storefront signage, trade show graphics, vehicle wraps and outdoor advertising. Especially interior decorations like wallpaper, floor applications or paintings can be ideally implemented with our printer, as it does not degas or smell due to the water-based ink. The WF1 enables printing on a wide range of coated and uncoated media up to 1615 mm printable width.

Taking advantage of the latest print head technology and ink chemistry, Brother has developed an eco-friendly, weather-resistant, water-based ink with GREENGUARD Gold certi- fication. The GREENGUARD Gold standard includes health-related criteria to ensure that products are suitable for use in sensitive indoor environments. The water-based ink is safe to use for example in restaurants or educational institutions. The ink is packaged in 700 ml ink pouches that minimize the cartridge waste.

The ink offers a larger color gamut by using CMYK only, unlike the industry standard. The Brother Latex ink in combination with Brother print heads achieves a high color depth and an excellent print result. The colours are expressive and have a high intensity and saturation.

 The print heads are arranged diagonally and provide an efficient printing process in which the optimizer is applied first, followed by the CMYK inks. This generates a high quality and high resolution print up to 1200 dpi. Compared to other processes, piezo printing ensures better quality, as it can be controlled more precisely. Due to the variable droplet sizes, sharper and grain-free results with smoother tonal transitions are achieved. The Brother print heads have a longer durability and service life based on the piezo printing process.The Brother WF1 wide format printer is a high production machine and very user friendly because of its 7-inch touch screen and the installed menu. With the gap adjustment, the adjustable take-up unit and less outgassing time, an optimal workflow is ensured. The printer also comes with professional production RIP Software.
