ASGA Webinar Employment Law – Living with COVID in the Workplace

Please join the Australian Sign & Graphics Association (ASGA) for this informative Webinar on 'Employment Law - Living with COVID in the Workplace' on 4 November at 2.30 pm AEDT.

ASGA's legal and business advisor, Warwick Ryan of Hicksons Lawyers, will be providing guidance on dealing with the many issues surrounding COVID and workplace laws.

As restrictions ease and borders are reopened, there are many factors to consider for getting 'business ready' for the anticipated increase in COVID cases.

Warwick will provide advice on these COVID issues and more as they might relate to the sign industry:

  • What are the FairWork rules around a business mandating their staff be vaccinated?
  • Does this vary across states and industries?
  • What type of penalties applies if staff are terminated due to refusing to vaccinate, and the termination action proves to be unlawful?
  • What is a business owner's obligations for protecting staff against COVID in the workplace?
  • As a business owner, can you ask staff to provide proof of vaccination status?

Vernon Kingman from Kingman Strategies will moderate the Webinar. Vernon has over 40 years of experience managing staff as the previous owner of the multi-award-winning sign company, Kingman Visual.

If you own or manage a sign business ASGA President, Julie Rochester, urges you to attend this Webinar:

"Many would know Warwick from the many years of providing legal advice to ASGA members. COVID has presented all business owners with challenges over the past 18 months, and we've been fortunate to have Warwick provide advice on it in webinar format to all industry as well as directly to ASGA members via its free IR advice line. Having some legal guidance on how we deal with the next stage from someone who has a good understanding of the sign industry is definitely reassuring. Anyone who owns or manages a sign business should definitely attend this Webinar – COVID is not going to go away, and we need to be on the front foot when it comes to managing its many business implications."
