Helen Sheirbon named as President, Solutions Group, Avery Dennison
Avery Dennison Corporation, a leading global materials science and digital identification solutions company, has announced that Helen Sheirbon (pictured) has been appointed President, Solutions Group, effective November 3, 2026.
Deon Stander, Avery Dennison President and CEO, says: “We are extremely pleased to welcome Helen to this role. She brings significant global experience driving growth, transformation and customer-centric innovation across solutions, services, printing and global supply chain. The Solutions Group will benefit from her leadership in digital innovation and track record of operational excellence.
“As President of the Solutions Group, Helen will continue to build on our strong position at the intersection of the physical and digital worlds by leveraging our deep industry expertise and market-driven innovation to deliver exceptional value to our customers.”
Sheirbon currently serves as senior vice president and chief operating officer of Global HP Solutions for HP Inc., where she leads operations and strategic execution across HP’s Global Solutions portfolio, enabling intelligent platforms, AI-powered insights and collaboration across all HP global businesses. Identified in 2013 as an HP Ascend Protégé, Sheirbon’s experience with HP spans over two decades during which she has held leadership roles of increasing responsibility.
Sheirbon holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business and a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from Bates College.
In a recent interview, Sheirbon was asked what she believes is the biggest myth about leadership. She responded: “The biggest myth about leadership is that you need a title to lead. Leadership isn’t a rank or a position. It’s about people choosing to believe in you, trust you and follow where you’re pointing. I’ve seen junior-level contributors move an entire room, and I’ve also seen senior titles that inspire no one. The title may open the door, but trust is what gets people to follow.”
“If leadership is this earned trust, then how you build it matters more than most people think. Honouring your word, fulfilling responsibilities, saying the difficult part out loud, pulling up a chair to actually listen to people. None of this requires permission from an org chart.”
“In the end, leadership isn’t granted by an organisation: it’s awarded by the people around you.”
