MISA launches survey as platform for ICP change

Workforce Plan

Having recently released the 2026 Manufacturing Workforce Plan, the Manufacturing Industry Skills Alliance (MISA) has now also committed to a full review of the current ICP Printing and Graphic Arts Training Package, towards ensuring that all ICP qualifications, skill sets, and units of competency better reflect current industry practices, emerging technologies, and future workforce needs.

Having previously conducted industry consultation, technical committee discussions and preliminary research, the latest stage of this ICP Review is to now launch an industry-wide survey, inviting everyone across Australia’s printing, packaging, signage and graphic arts industry to share their insights and help shape the industry’s future.

The survey comes in recognition of significant changes in the industry that may not be fully accounted for in the current ICP Printing and Graphic Arts Training Package, with a review needed to help the alliance better understand the current and future impacts on workforce skills stemming for the rise in automation, digital production, new technologies and changing business models.

The survey itself, which can be accessed here closes off at 5pm On Friday 13th November, should only take 10 minutes to complete and focuses questions across three primary areas:

  • you and your work / study;
  • your perspectives on the printing industry today; and
  • your perspectives on the future of the printing industry.

It is anonymous and responses will be collected by Cube Group, treated confidentially and reported in aggregate. Cube will then provide MISA with collated survey data at the conclusion of the project, which will be managed in accordance with the alliance’s privacy policy.

A MISA spokesperson affirms ‘every contribution will be helpful in helping us secure a better picture of current and future workforce skills in the printing industry, to help identify gaps in our training and better understand what is needed to support a productive and future-ready workforce’.
