Mimaki UJ330H-160 Hybrid UV printer roadshow continues in the regions

Following successful launch events in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane showcasing the recently launched UJ330H-160 Hybrid UV Printer, Mimaki Australia is now turning its attention to regional Australia, honing in on an open day at BJR MotorSport in Albury-Wodonga on August 18th.
Mimaki Australia Managing Director Kohei Kobayashi outlined the rationale at the regional event, saying: “It was really important for us to also ensure all our regional partners and suppliers can bring their customers in to see this new 330 Series in action, particularly because its compact footprint and versatility are well-suited to small to mid-size print shops, looking to find new market opportunities. For many businesses where floor space and capital investment need to be carefully considered, it removes the need for multiple devices.”
“Our 330 Series has already been recognised globally for exceptional image quality and production output. But with the introduction of the UJ330H-160, these strengths have now been extended to a hybrid platform that now allows sign makers and commercial printers to produce both roll and rigid applications on one machine. This is a direct reflection of what we’re seeing as the evolving needs of our customers, who are seeking greater flexibility and more in-house capability.”
The UJ330H-160 switches between roll media and rigid board, covering signage, display graphics, window films and fabric applications. A belt transport system is designed to improve media handling stability for thin films and textiles, reducing creasing and misfeeding.
For rigid substrates, an Auto-Vacuum system combined with front and rear lock rollers allows the machine to handle large aluminium composite panels and foam boards in-house. Speaking with representatives from Guru Labels — a label printing operation based on Sydney’s Central Coast — Mimaki Australia NSW Sales Channel Manager Roger Corby noted: “Rigid production in Australia has traditionally required mounting, outsourcing or dedicated flatbed equipment, but the UJ330H-160 changes that equation. With its Auto-Vacuum system and front and rear lock rollers, businesses can confidently run large aluminium composite panels or thick foam boards in-house, improving turnaround times and protecting margin. This hybrid capability addresses a longstanding production gap in the local industry.”
The print engine runs at speeds of up to 14.0m²/h, with automated adjustment functions intended to maintain consistent output across operators. UV inks are formulated without SVHC and CMR substances. Workflow integration includes RasterLink7 RIP software for multilayer and high-build effects, and the PICT cloud-based monitoring platform.
For sign makers and commercial printers, the practical upside is the ability to consolidate roll and rigid production without additional equipment or floor space, and to reduce reliance on outsourcing for rigid jobs.
Kobayashi concluded: “This is about giving Australian print businesses the flexibility and efficiency they need to grow sustainably. The UJ330H-160 empowers them to do more with less complexity and to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving market.”
