FESPA Australia’s Inaugural Sydney Social Event – A Hit!

An enthusiastic crowd of over 60 members from Australia's specialty printing industry came together for the inaugural FESPA Sydney Social. Held at Sydney Rowing Club in Abbotsford, the spectacular views across the harbour followed the proven formula of the Melbourne events that have been popular for so long.

"This event has been a long time coming," said Nigel Davies, FESPA Australia President. “Delayed twice by COVID, so I'm happy that we managed to get this off the ground finally. The turnout and support from suppliers and printers and other Associations like Visual Connections and the Sign and Graphics Association confirm that we are an industry working together.”

Davies addressed the crowd to say that he firmly believes the challenges we face in business or as an industry are smaller “when we get to know each other better. Social events such as these build relationships that get things done.”

Davies highlighted the long history of an Association that was started in 1958 and was honoured to have in attendance Mr Trevor Cunningham of Allprint Graphics, a "founding father" of the Association.   While "FESPA is best known for its tradeshows, we are proud to represent Australia in a community of 37 national associations. That's 37 countries working together for one purpose – to put profits back into our industry – the FESPA tagline is Profit For Purpose, and that's why we are here," he continued.

Durst, Cactus Imaging, Mulford Plastics, and HVG sponsored the event, and their support makes our work possible.

"This was the first time I finally met our Sydney members in two years! Catch up on the phone or via Zoom is fine, but nothing beats face-to-face conversations." Jane Docherty, FESPA Marketing & Membership Officer.

As well as exhibiting at the forthcoming PacPrint Expo in Melbourne – 28 June – 1 July, FESPA Australia is delighted also to be presenting two educational sessions.
