Visual Impact opens to a busy first day

Visual Impact Sydney kicked off with a smoking ceremony and official welcome by the Gawura Cultural Immersions group at the entry to Halls 5 & 6 of the Sydney Showground.

Sharing the rich heritage of First Nations People through a smoking ceremony, Stuart McMinn, a cultural man from the Dharug and Gubbi Gubbi, and Lead Cultural Facilitator of the group explained the cleansing ceremony would kick off the event on a good footing. Attendees and exhibitors were then invited to walk through the smoke created by placing fresh gum leaves on the small fire.

The group then led the crowd into the exhibition with a song and dance performance, through the entrance to the hall, officially opening the three day show.

Inside Visual Impact, visitors found all the latest innovations in systems, equipment, software, media, consumables and services for the diverse and exciting sector.

The show’s first day was a a busy one, with several exhibitors noting the early crowds and large school group of 55 school children attending the show, and the Try a Trade workshops, as well as taking the opportunity to learn about the advanced technology on the show floor from several suppliers and brands.

The show will continue for two more days, opening from 10 am –6 pm this Thursday, with drinks from 5pm – 7pm on Thursday night. On the final day, Friday, the show will be open from 10am – 4pm. Click here to register or out more at visualimpact.org.au
