ASGA Industry Taster Days announced

The Visual Connections ASGA Education Program has announced the dates of their Industry Taster Days, which will take place in Sydney on 25 & 26 October, and in Brisbane on 8 & 9 November.

These days, facilitated by the team from AusSIP, will involve students who have a qualified interest in moving into apprenticeships, giving them a greater understanding of working in the industry by visiting selected sign and graphics businesses for a hands-on immersive experience of the industry.

The Program will also attend the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Girls Tech Day on 22 November at The Cube at Campbelltown Convention Entertainment Centre.  Run in conjunction with Inspiring the Future this exciting event is designed to inspire female school students to consider pathways in technology.

Recruiting girls to the industry is vital to continue the move to more gender-balanced workplaces, so this is an ideal opportunity to engage with approximately 400 primary students at the morning session and a similar number of high school students in the afternoon.

Students will get the chance to engage with everything from AI and machine learning to coding, virtual reality, robotics, cyber security and more - and with the help of Trotec on the ASGA stand, the students will be introduced to digital production and laser cutting.
