CalderaRIP upgrade now supports Summa L Series laser cutters

French printing software company Caldera has announced the release of the latest build of its market-leading RIP software, CalderaRIP Version 13.1. Build 200421 brings a range of new features that are exclusive to CalderaCare customers, numerous bug fixes, additional driver options, as well as new cutter drivers which support Summa L Series laser cutters and Hi Seiki’s flatbed cutters.

“Despite the current situation, many of our customers keep working hard to refocus their production on face masks and social distancing equipment. That is why during the last few weeks, our team put more effort in developing new cutting features and new cutter drivers,” says Arnaud Fabre, Product Manager.

CalderaRIP software now supports Summa L Series laser cutters that are designed for textile cutting, such as sportswear or dye sublimation garments. Caldera users can benefit from the features of the new Summa cutters, coupled with CalderaRIP automatic nesting and cut capabilities to make their printshop more profitable.

In addition, Hi Seiki’s flatbed cutters are also supported. These new drivers are available in the build for download on Caldera Workspace.

Among the new elements exclusive to CalderaCare customers is the support of the Trimmer Fotoba XLA 170 with Automatic Slicer Positioning (ASP) feature. With this new feature, CalderaRIP generates barcodes that are read by the trimmer to position the blades automatically. This will help reduce manual operations on the device and allow users to streamline their production with high precision trimming.

Additional driver options designed to improve print and cut production workflow are now available for Caldera users. For example, owners of Esko Kongsberg trimmers now have the option to disable legacy marks for optical code usage with recent I-Cut.

On the other hand, owners of Epson SC80600 printers can now choose mirroring direction with a dedicated option.

The Double-Sided Printing feature, first released with CalderaRIP Version 13.1 in March 2020 to automate double-sided printing production, has been improved for a better user experience.

The complete list of bug fixes included in CalderaRIP Build 200421 is available on Caldera Workspace.
