Monday, 10 August 2020 OOH industry half year revenue posts 35.4% dip compared to 2019 The Out of Home (OOH) industry announced its half year net media revenue results, confirming a total net media revenue of $289.1 million, down 35.4% from $447.3 million for the same period in 2019. Roadside billboards posted $129.7 million in 2020, compared to $176.8 million in 2019. The roadside other category (including street furniture, bus/tram externals, small format), saw $78 million in revenue, down from $126.1 million in 2019. Transport (including airports) took the biggest dive with $44.1 million in 2020, compared to $82.6 million last year. The retail, lifestyle and other category (including shopping centre panels, as well as all place-based digital signs including office media – covering signs in lifts and office buildings, cafe panels, and digital screens in doctors’ surgeries and medical centres) posted $37.3 million, compared to $61.8 million last year. Digital out of home (DOOH) revenue accounted for 55.7 per cent of total net media revenue year-to-date, an increase over the recorded 54.0 per cent for the same period last year.
