Bringing Colour Back is the theme for FESPA’s Global Print Expo 2021, which everyone will embrace given these unprecedented times.

Arjen Evertse, General Manager Sales at Mimaki Europe, said “that despite the financial and logistic fallout from the pandemic, the past year has been a year of growth for several markets. With the surge of people working and spending more time at home, interior décor and home textile printing saw significant growth.”

There was also a greater need for on-demand digital printing. As part of Mimaki’s entry-level 100 Series, they launched the TS100-1660, which has assisted printers looking to explore and the versatility of digital printing. With the restrictions and regulations of the past year, there was increased demand for protective and informative sign printing advertising social distancing among a suite of signage. For the textile users, it was face masks and signage that could be cleaned and washed.

There was, and not related to the pandemic, an increase in high quality full colour 3D printing. Enter Mimaki 3DUj-2207, the new high quality desktop system which will be making its debut at FESPA, making 3D printing more accessible. There has also been increasing interest in high-quality, full-colour 3D printing for prototyping, medical models, and other applications. With the launch of solutions like the Mimaki 3DUJ-2207 - a new high-quality desktop system making its live exhibition debut at FESPA - 3D printing is more accessible than ever. As a result, a wide range of businesses eagerly anticipates the opportunity to introduce colour 3D printing to their offering once this solution is commercially available.

The stand will feature four brand-new Mimaki high-speed, high-quality direct-to-object UV LED inkjet printers – the UJF-7151plus II and the new UJF Mk2 e Series. These innovative printers deliver high quality and performance benefits, helping users explore new applications and increase productivity.
Also on show is the JFX600-2513 is the new LED-UV large-format flatbed inkjet printer, taking customers into new realms of high-volume UV printing. It is engineered for high speeds, high productivity, and a broad range of applications due to extensive ink types and increased media flexibility.

The Mimaki cross-platform development strategy such as the 100 series means faster delivery of products at a lower cost. In addition, they have a clear focus on automation and technology support MDL (Device Language), which helps to integrate production into a workflow seamlessly.

Mimaki are looking forward to showcasing and demonstrating their extensive range of cutting-edge technologies. Evertse concluded by saying, “we are so excited to return to an exhibition floor and engage with our customers, industry colleagues and friends again. With the rainbow of success and innovation, this industry has seen in the face of a time overshadowed by a very grey cloud, and we are confident that, whatever the colour of the future, it is bright.”
