Visual Connections Golf Day Highlights

It was blue skies and sunshine in Sydney as golfers took to the greens at the Pennant Hills Golf Club today for the Visual Connections Golf Day. The event was another welcome opportunity for the industry’s suppliers, their clients and others from across the industry to enjoy a day of networking.

Well over 100 people participated in eighteen holes of golf, teeing off at 11:30 am for an Ambrose-style competition that prioritises fun and friendly competition. Conditions this year were almost perfect, except for a stiff breeze late morning, which provided some additional challenges for golfers, who ranged from regular players to first-timers.

Hosts and Platinum Sponsors Visual Connections were joined in supporting the day by Gold Sponsors Currie Group and Expo Net, and hole sponsors Bőttcher Australia, Get Rigged, Gel Events, Sign-A-Rama, Sydney Showgrounds and Labels Plus Magazine. A drinks cart sponsored by Ecolease ferried refreshments to players on the course.

The competition was fierce, and the interpretation of rules was creative at times; however, a three-person team from Pozitive – Eddy Alilovic, Michael Farnham and Anthony Bonnici – emerged victorious. Coming in a close second were Scott Le Lievre, David Vider, Phil Marshall and Mitch Mulligan playing for Bőttcher Australia.

Following a full day out on the course, the golfers gathered at the 19th hole for drinks, where they were joined by several more industry identities for an American BBQ dinner. Entertainment was provided by author and raconteur Tom Ware, and presentations were made to the winning teams and those who achieved other notable feats, including longest drive, straightest drive, nearest the post and the ‘Survival Ball’, which was taken out by Ricoh.

Sarah Moore, Business Development Manager for Visual Connections, says the day reflects the association’s strong focus on connecting people across the industry through expos, events and other gatherings.

“The annual Golf Day is a fantastic opportunity to catch up with industry colleagues, make new connections and enjoy a great day of fun while building the relationships which we know are so important to successfully doing business,” she said.

“We were overwhelmed by the response to the event this year, with one hundred and eight people taking to the course and another fourteen joining us for dinner. It’s great to see our industry getting back to our regular program of events, and we look forward to continuing those opportunities as we look towards Print2Parliament! on 23 November and Visual Impact Sydney in May 2023,” concluded Moore.
