Visual Impact opens to a busy first day

Visual Impact Sydney kicked off with a smoking ceremony and official welcome by the Gawura Cultural Immersions group at the entry to Halls 5 & 6 of the Sydney Showground.

Sharing the rich heritage of First Nations People through a smoking ceremony, Stuart McMinn, a cultural man from the Dharug and Gubbi Gubbi, and Lead Cultural Facilitator of the group explained the cleansing ceremony would kick off the event on a good footing. Attendees and exhibitors were then invited to walk through the smoke created by placing fresh gum leaves on the small fire.

The group then led the crowd into the exhibition with a song and dance performance, through the entrance to the hall, officially opening the three day show.
