Thursday, 13 July 2023 Gallery: NZSDA Sign and Display Award Winners More than 320 people attended the NZSDA Sign and Display Gala Awards Dinner, Saturday July 8 at the Due Drop Events Centre in Auckland, the largest gathering of the industry since before COVID. Fulton Hogan Signs was named the Overall Winner for their project "Light My Way to Nature", for client Christchurch International Airport. In describing the project Rodger Skerten said, "A plain, concrete building on a busy street never sells a good news story well, so we proposed to our customer to bring the building to life with each new water plant having a different natural theme. For this building we designed the Southern Alps imagery for the sandblasters to etch into the concrete panel to provide depth to the flat panels. The braided rivers that are iconic to Canterbury were replicated with laser water cut pin mounted corten steel pin panels with blue LED illumination fitted to the rear to give the effect of water at night."
