Kongsberg embraces ‘maximising creativity’ message at drupa 2024

Kongsberg Precision Cutting Systems is demonstrating the capabilities of its cutting-edge technology at drupa, constructing its booth to showcase how its technology helps businesses to maximise their creativity.

David Preskett, Vice President of EMEA and APAC at Kongsberg PCS, emphasised the dual focus of the display, saying, “All our tables and tools are designed to empower businesses, enhancing creativity,” he said. “Our drupa booth serves as a live example of the extraordinary designs achievable with Kongsberg technology.

“Packaging, sign and display manufacturers around the world are facing growing demand for creative designs that stand out and inspire conversation,” he said. “At Kongsberg PCS, we are harnessing the latest technology in solutions that meet the challenge of delivering the creative freedom demanded by consumers all across the globe – and our drupa booth gives us the opportunity to show this to the world.”

The highlight of the Kongsberg PCS booth is its impressive central canopy, crafted entirely from Re-board — the reusable and recyclable paperboard produced in Sweden by one of the leading sustainable substrate manufacturers in the world. The structure is the work of designer Maximilian Hansen of Nordwerk Design, renowned for his large creations using the material. It has been produced using Kongsberg PCS’ range of cutting tables and specialist tooling solutions.

“Cutting, perforating and creasing each element on Kongsberg tables, we are proud to have built the centrepiece of our booth with our leading Kongsberg cutting technology,” added Preskett. “The stunning design emphasises aesthetic appeal and underscores our commitment to maximising creativity.”

The Re-board construction has created a destination for visitors to drupa, and designer Maximilian Hansen said he was delighted to be part of the large display at the Kongsberg PCS booth, on stand B43 in Hall 8A of the Messe Düsseldorf.

“This is a great opportunity to showcase that using cardboard does not have to constrain or limit your creativity at all,” he said, “When compared to wood, for example, not only does it have a significantly better weight-to-strength ratio, but it also gives more freedom so you can bend it, fold it and free your imagination.

“I am delighted to be working with Kongsberg PCS on this exciting project at drupa and to demonstrate what the powerful combination of great technology, materials and creativity can achieve,” said Hansen.

Kongsberg PCS also collaborated with the publishers of the drupa Daily to construct eye-catching display and distribution units positioned around the exhibition halls.

“The bright units are made from BEElite, 100% recyclable panels with a core made of honeycomb cardboard and an external paper layer,” concludes Preskett, “We were thrilled to work with drupa Daily on this project and to demonstrate that whether large or small, huge displays or practical container units, the Kongsberg table and tool combination gives designers the freedom to maximise their creativity.”
