JCDecaux becomes the first OOH media company in Australia to launch measurement on the Scope-3 platform

Advertisers are now able to access emissions data for their JCDecaux media campaigns on the Scope3 platform, marking a key step forward in sustainable media practices.

CEO JCDecaux Australia and New Zealand Steve O'Connor said: “With JCDecaux now on the Scope3 platform; advertisers can integrate digital Out-of-Home into their media mix, ensuring credible third-party emissions reporting for their campaigns. Digital Out-Home has one of the lowest carbon footprint per impression of all channels currently measured on Scope3 making it a natural fit for advertisers wanting to reduce emissions.

“This launch is a milestone for JCDecaux but also for the Out-of-Home industry, as we lead the way in transparency and accountability.”

Scope3 provides carbon measurement across the digital media supply chain, allowing advertisers to assess and manage emissions associated with each aspect of their media buy.

Jo Georges, Head of ANZ at Scope3, said: “The launch of JCDecaux’s digital asset measurement on Scope3 reflects the company’s dedication to a responsible media ecosystem and supports brands in meeting their own carbon reduction targets with the highest degree of transparency. This new level of data integration aligns with the industry’s broader push for clear, measurable media plans with sustainability in mind.”

Introducing emissions transparency on Scope 3 strengthens JCDecaux’s sustainability commitments and 2025 growth strategy, building on a range of carbon-reduction initiatives across its network. JCDecaux’s integrated climate strategy reset and 2050 net-zero target have reduced its emissions in Australia by more than 70 per cent since 2021 across Scope 1, 2, and 3.
