Tuesday, 12 November 2024 Serendipity Software unveils RGB+Spot colour support NSW-based Serendipity Software has announced its latest innovation in colour management: RGB + Spot Colour Support, which is now available in Version 9.1 of its Blackmagic and Veripress products. The new feature empowers designers and print professionals to seamlessly proof and print TIFF, PSD, and PDF files containing RGB images with spot colours, all within a purely RGB workflow, using supported Inkjet printers. With RGB + Spot Colour Support, designers can keep their artwork in the RGB colour space without converting to CMYK. The file remains in RGB from creation to submission in the software, ensuring no CMYK conversion until the final printing stage. This allows users to preserve the full-colour gamut and dynamic range of RGB photographic elements while providing precise spot colour handling for vibrant and consistent results. Importantly, this feature does not eliminate the need for a traditional CMYK workflow but introduces a parallel RGB workflow that can be used alongside an existing CMYK process, offering flexibility to print professionals. An advantage of this new feature is retaining the full vividness of the RGB colour spectrum for richer, more vibrant visuals. Designers can ensure brand consistency with precise spot colour handling throughout the workflow. By eliminating the need for RGB to CMYK conversion, users benefit from faster, more efficient workflows while preserving design intent by maintaining perfect alignment between RGB and spot colours. These combined benefits provide a competitive edge, allowing users to achieve superior results with speed and quality. The company says textile and apparel designers will find it useful to easily handle colourful, intricate designs on fabrics, while corporate branding teams can ensure consistent brand colours across all promotional materials. RGB+Spot Colour Support equips printers with a tool to manage complex colour projects efficiently without sacrificing quality. From digital proofing to final print, this new feature gives designers and print professionals control and creative freedom. The RGB+Spot Colour Support functionality is best suited for printers that accept RGB input, specifically those qualified as Printer’s Screening and HTM in Blackmagic.
