The Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia (EEAA) reported that the diversity of the industry was well reflected in the 60 finalists and nominees short-listed by the judges. Evaluated by a panel of 29 judges, including nine international industry experts, the entries for the 2019 EEAA Awards for Excellence revealed a strong field of finalists and nominees. EEAA Chief Executive, Joyce DiMascio said that submissions were received across 15 award categories with many of the leading Organisers, Associations, Venues and Suppliers showcasing their best work and the people in their organisations who bring these events to life. “We congratulate all the finalists and the nominees for the Richard Geddes Young Achiever Award, all have presented us with outstanding work, and we thank the judges who have put significant time and effort into the assessment of each entry.” The judging panel, chaired by Australian events industry leader John Trevillian AM, said that the judges had gone through a rigorous process in order to determine the finalists. “Each category was separately assessed by three independent judges and it has been an extremely competitive process. The high standard of entries and the submission requirements such as auditing, research and references, enabled the panel to validate the merit of the finalists.” said John Trevillian AM, Chair of the 2019 Judging Panel.
