Epson Debuts SureColor S8160 at PacPrint 2025

The SureColor S8160, a next-generation eco-solvent printer designed to deliver superior productivity, wide colour gamut, and low environmental impact, all within a compact, user-friendly footprint, has made its Australian debut on the Epson stand.

The 64-inch S8160 replaces the outgoing SC-S60600 and S60660L models and is the heart of Epson’s large-format signage range. Visitors to the stand over the first two days of the show, were among the first to see the S8160 in action ahead of its commercial availability later this year.
Built around Epson’s latest 2.64-inch PrecisionCore MicroTFP printhead, the S8160 ensures consistent, high-quality output with integrated features including temperature sensors, nozzle verification, and nozzle replacement. Combined with a six-colour UltraChrome GS3 ink set; including light cyan and light magenta; the printer delivers smooth gradations, vibrant colour, and exceptional detail across a wide variety of substrates, including vinyl, canvas, film, and wallpaper.
Engineered for high-volume workflows, the printer includes dual ink slots per colour for uninterrupted printing, hot-swappable ink handling, and support for 800ml or 1,500ml ink capacities to help reduce waste and improve operational efficiency. Epson has also prioritised usability, incorporating a 4.3-inch tiltable touchscreen, integrated lighting, auto tension control, and an advanced media lifting system.

As part of Epson’s broader sustainability and productivity focus, the SureColor S8160 bundles with Epson Edge Print Pro RIP software and connects with Epson Cloud Solution PORT for job tracking, reporting, and cost analysis.
“In over a decade of attending trade shows, I’ve never seen this many new products showcased by Epson on a single stand,” says Gordon Kerr, Business Marketing Manager, Epson Australia.
Also on display was the SureColor S7160, a new model that builds on the global success of the SC-S40600. It is engineered for excellent image quality, productivity, reliability, ease of use and minimal operating cost.

At the top of the range is the SureColor S9160, Epson’s flagship eco-solvent model. This 64-inch printer features an advanced 11-colour ink set—including red, orange, a newly introduced green, and opaque white—designed to deliver an expanded colour gamut and enhanced versatility across clear and dark media. The S9160 incorporates approximately 30% recycled plastic in its construction and offers multiple ink configurations to reduce plastic waste and lower environmental impact.

Epson also featured its first resin ink large-format printer, the SureColor R5000, which uses aqueous-based resin ink to produce signage, décor, and promotional applications. The R5000 offers fast turnaround with lower curing temperatures and improved scratch resistance, delivering a safer and more sustainable alternative to traditional latex systems.
Epson presented the SureColor G6060 for fabric and garment decorators, purpose-built for direct-to-film (DTF) production. With minimal maintenance and high-duty cycle design, the G6060 supports high-volume, on-demand garment imaging with streamlined operation.

The SureColor F9560 offers high-performance dye-sublimation printing for customised fabric and soft signage production. It targets commercial textile workflows with a bulk ink system and an efficient energy footprint. Meanwhile, the compact SureColor F1060 supports DTG and DTF modes from a front–office–ready footprint, which is ideal for retail, event, and small business operations.
In the graphics and CAD space, the SureColor P20560 and SureColor T5760DM provided further options for poster production, fine art, and technical drawing outputs, combining expanded colour gamuts with fast speeds and sustainable design.

With two more days of the show many new Epson products on display, visitors to Stand C48 still have time to experience the full extent of Epson’s innovation in print.
