Sonya Beers appointed FESPA Australia Leader 2025

On 16 October 2025, FESPA Australia held its FESPA Leaders Cocktail event, culminating in the announcement of the 2025 FESPA Australia Leader. The two-day leadership program brought together fourteen participants from a range of companies and backgrounds, to participate in a transformative two-day leadership workshop where they engaged with experts, expanded their leadership skills and explored key industry challenges.

During the event, Sonya Beers from Ive Group was named the 2025 FESPA Australia Leader, as voted by her peers. Karen Lawler from Cactus Imaging received the second place nomination, and both will receive subsidised trips to attend FESPA Barcelona in May 2026, where they will represent Australia on an international platform, showcasing their expertise and vision for the industry.

Beers says, “I am very grateful to my cohort for nominating me and am excited for what the next year brings. I look forward to attending FESPA Barcelona, meeting new people, seeing the latest technologies and sharing what I learn. I would like to thank IVE Group for supporting me in my professional development and FESPA Australia for offering such an amazing leadership program.”

FESPA Australia President Nigel Davies addressed the gathering, saying, "We are really proud that this program, now in it’s fourth year, has created an alumni of fifty printing industry leaders who will take the lessons they have learnt through the program, to take this industry forwards into the future.  When we started the program, we said we were going to build a print army, and we are well on the way.”
