Jason Signmakers and new Sista Girl Sign & Print team up to empower Aboriginal women in the workforce

Raquel Todd has recently launched her business, Sista Girl Sign & Print, a joint venture with WA’s largest signage business, Jason Signmakers, with a focus on empowering Aboriginal women in the print and signage industry.

These three driving factors are the company's pillars of Aboriginal engagement:

Workforce – aiming to provide opportunities for Aboriginal people to secure roles in supportive environments, through apprenticeships and traineeships. (Including roles working within the wider Jason Signmakers Group as well as direct employment.)

Community - as it grows, Sista Girl will welcome opportunities to sponsor, support and work with local communities to give back where it matters most.

Supply Chain – recognising that the mutual benefits achieved by bringing Aboriginal businesses into Sista Girl’s supply chain are a powerful way to help other Aboriginal business owners grow their businesses. To do this, the company is establishing an Aboriginal network of suppliers and partners across WA.

Through its partnership with Jason Signmakers, Sista Girl Sign and Print can offer clients access to state-of-the-art printing and signage equipment, and the strict quality control guaranteed by WA’s leading signage manufacturer under ISO 9001.

Jason Signmakers’ MD John Mancini told the National Indigenous Times that he was pleased to confirm that the company’s experienced sign experts will be providing training, coaching and mentorship to the Sista Girl Sign and Print team as it grow its capabilities.

Sista Girl specialises in keeping people safe at work, while also providing Australian and Main Road WA compliant road signs and business signage. It is currently working on a campaign to support organisations with COVID-19 workplace messaging.

 “At our workplace we've already put a number of measures in place, including split shifts in production and social distancing. Our priority is the health and well-being of our team, and delivering business continuity as best we can,” said Rachel on the company’s facebook page.
