Roland DG Releases VersaWorks 7 Upgrade

Roland DG has released the latest version of its VersaWorks 7 RIP software, saying that the upgrade improves both quality and productivity by increasing processing speed and adding new print modes for specific models.

“VersaWorks 7 software comes standard with Roland DG inkjet printers and is designed to optimise printing and streamline the workflow for the specific printer, ink, and media in use. It provides optimum print quality for users, with enhanced processing capabilities, more intuitive operation, and support for both macOS and Windows OS, while continuing the outstanding capabilities of the previous version,” notes Ryugo Nimura, President of Global Sales and Marketing at Roland DG.

The company says VersaWorks 7 delivers up to 3.9 times faster RIP processing than its predecessor. This enables smooth, high-definition output of large or complex files featuring effects like transparency and blurring, boosting both productivity and profitability.

New printing modes feature a recently developed dither pattern that enhances the performance of the XG-640 and XP-640 large-format eco-solvent inkjet printers, enabling high-definition output without graininess. Even in 4-colour CMYK mode, the printers produce stunning graphics with vivid colours, neutral greys, smooth gradations, and natural skin tones. Additionally, consistent, high-quality results can be achieved even in the unlikely event of bi-directional misalignment or media lift during printing.

“Since its release in March 2025, VersaWorks 7 has been used in a wide range of industries, not only by print professionals, but also by many people with no experience in the print business, such as those in retail, interior decoration, and schools,” Nimura adds. “We have updated the functionality to meet the diverse needs of our customers and provide the best experience for everyone.
