The Canon Arizona and Colorado M-series printer ranges have now been added to the supplier’s portfolio of solutions for the New Zealand sign and display market. The new agreement, effective 1 August, covers sales of the award-winning printer ranges and technical and service support delivered from Currie Group’s Auckland base. Currie Group was named the top Canon Colorado partner in the Asia-Pacific region earlier this year, and current YTD performance figures show it leading the world in Colorado sales. Currie Group says the addition of the Canon portfolio in New Zealand is an important complement to its existing Sign & Display portfolio, which includes EFI, Epson, Elitron, and Neolt Factory. Craig Paul, NZ Country Manager for Currie Group, says his team is excited to see the Canon partnership extended into New Zealand. This will allow Currie Group to provide customers with a solution for every application and product requirement across the wide-format sector. “The Sign & Display market in New Zealand is evolving at a rapid rate, placing demands on print service providers for ever-greater versatility, productivity and innovation,” he says. “Currie Group remains committed to offering total, end-to-end solutions across all our verticals. The addition of the Canon Arizona and Colorado M-series products to our New Zealand Sign & Display portfolio delivers on that commitment, enabling us to provide the widest and most comprehensive range of wide-format solutions on the market, backed by unmatched service and technical support,” he adds. The Colorado 1.6m printer range, led by the flagship M-series, features Canon’s market-leading UVgel technology, which delivers unrivalled versatility and productivity thanks to the gel-like formulation of its inks. The award-winning Arizona range adds a dedicated solution for rigid media to the Currie Group portfolio. Available in a wide choice of table sizes, printing speeds, and media handling capabilities, its ‘true flatbed’ design enables precise imaging of rigid materials for applications from sign and display to interior décor, retail, and packaging. It also provides much-needed versatility with a Roll Media Option that allows printing to flexible substrates. Paul Whitehead, Currie Group’s Business Unit Manager—Sign & Display, says the Currie Group team has already built extensive expertise across the Colorado and Arizona ranges, positioning it well to expand sales and service support into New Zealand. “We have been partnering with Canon Production Printing in Australia for a couple of years now, and have built a strong relationship which has delivered value to both businesses and, more importantly, to our customer base across the country. “Now, New Zealand businesses will be able to benefit from the partnership, knowing that they are supported not only by the combined product expertise and knowledge of both the Currie Group and Canon Production Printing teams, but with our extensive service and support operation,” Whitehead says. Craig Nethercott, managing director of Canon Production Printing Oceania, says he is excited to broaden the company’s relationship with Currie Group, with the appointment as a strategic partner for New Zealand. “Currie Group’s customer-centric approach closely aligns with our own, and this new agreement builds on the demonstrated success of our partnership in Australia, supporting our growth ambitions in New Zealand by providing extended reach, options and support to the wide-format graphics sector,” he says.
