Messe Frankfurt postpones Heimtextil until 2022 but focuses on digital offerings

Messe Frankfurt has postponed the Heimtextil, Techtextil and Texprocess trade shows, and others planned for April and May 2021, as the ongoing pandemic causes events to be effectively banned in Germany, and international travel restrictions remain in place.

“The coronavirus pandemic has taken centre-stage, and our plans have not escaped its impact. In light of the current situation, it would not be possible for us to satisfy our customers’ requirements for international trade fairs in April or May,” said Detlef Braun, Member of the Executive Board of Messe Frankfurt.

Heimtextil is now scheduled from 11 -14 January 2022, and Techtextil and Texprocess will take place in the second quarter of 2022.

Messe Frankfurt has created a range of digital offerings for its customers, with more being planned. Consumer Goods Digital Day on April 20 will offer customers the opportunity to get together at a digital meeting point to exchange ideas and obtain information. In addition, the B2B marketplace Nextrade, which went live last year, brings together supply and demand under a single digital roof and creates major added value for both sides.

The first order and data platform for the home and living industry, it offers home and household textile manufacturers the opportunity to present their products, and to promote their business with retailers and traders via Nextrade's frequently used channel.

"The ongoing shutdown of retailers in our visitor countries has made relevant up-to-date information and solutions essential, and we are satisfying this demand with our digital offerings during this volatile time. As you know, we are also continuing to do everything in our power to make safe and successful trade fairs possible, because nothing can take the place of face-to-face encounters," said Detlef.
