Wednesday, 2 March 2022 Mimaki launches TS330-1600 large format sublimation transfer inkjet printer Mimaki announces the release of the new “TS330-1600”, designed and developed from the ground up, bringing together Mimaki’s technological expertise of the last twenty years. Snapshot: ・Mimaki Weaving Dot Technology (MWDT) - New technology realising high image quality ・Improved production performance with high image quality ・Two options for lower running costs in production ・New functions to ensure reliable long hour print operation ・New maintenance mechanism for improved usability ・Mimaki Remote Access (MRA) enables operation status check and panel operation from a remote location ・Selectable two types of software that support beautiful prints and ease of use TS330-1600 is a sublimation transfer inkjet printer that enables high production with high image quality suitable for a flagship model and is equipped with new functions to improve stable operation, saving work and labour. The "Mimaki Weaving Dot Technology (MWDT)", a newly installed printing technology, changes the order of ink droplet placement depending on the printing conditions. This new MWDT technology suppresses unexpected streaks or uneven printing caused by slight individual differences in the print head or subtle deviations in adjustment, producing both the best solid print*1 quality in our company's history and beautiful printing quality. A printing speed of 69m2/h in Draft mode (600x600 dpi, 2Pass) with a 4-colour ink set (Bl, M, Y, K) is achieved, an increase of approximately 138% of the speed compared to our conventional model*2. In addition, MAPS4 (Mimaki Advanced Pass System 4) *3 reduces banding (horizontal stripes) during low passes. Two optional units of the "10 kg ink tank unit" and the "Mini jumbo roll unit" popular with our other models*4 are available for customisation and can be attached to the TS330-1600. The 10kg ink tank*5 of large capacity type can also be installed to the "10kg ink tank supply unit"*6 to significantly reduce running costs compared to the standard 2-litre ink pack. The "Mini jumbo roll unit "*6 is a feeding option that can be equipped with Mimaki Vision™ Jet-X Mini-162, our genuine transfer paper of approximately 2,500m length roll that has achieved low running costs. With the lower running costs, these two optional units reduce downtime of ink and media replacement and reduce customer workload. TS330-1600 adopts a new function to prevent conveyance misalignment in long length media winding. The drive motor for winding, which used to be mounted only on one side, is now mounted on both the left and right sides to distribute the load and strengthen the winding force. The "V-shape cut function" cuts the media into a V-shape, allowing the tape to be fixed at a single point straight against the paper core is added. Moreover, the "Media edge guide" for assisting in media winding is downsized to make it easier for customers to attach and remove it by themselves. Those additional three functions and items can reduce human error and prevent media feeding misalignment. Mimaki’s printing functions such as NCU (Nozzle Check Unit)*7, NRS (Nozzle Recovery System) *8, DAS (Dot Adjustment System)*9 are taken over to ensure stable operation for long-time printing. New features to improve usability. A “cloth wiper” has been adopted to increase the removal rate of unwanted ink droplets adhering to the nozzle surface as a new cleaning mechanism. Compared to conventional "rubber wipers", the new wiper reduces ink splattering on the head station and improves maintainability and cleanliness. The maintenance space has been expanded, and LED lighting has been installed inside the central unit as standard, making it even easier to view and use. "Mimaki Remote Access (MRA)" allows you to operate the machine panel and confirm the operating statuses, such as an error-check from an iPhone*10 or PC. "Sb411" and "Sb410"*11 inks proven in the market are applied to TS330-1600 All colours of these environmentally friendly inks have acquired "ECO PASSPORT"*12, an international certification system for chemicals, colourants and auxiliaries used in the textile and leather industry. Assuring safety and security. Ink sets are available in 4, 6, 7, and 8 colours. Besides the basic colour of blue, magenta, yellow, and black for a 4-colour ink set, light blue, light magenta, light black, fluorescent pink, and fluorescent yellow are also selectable among 6/7/8 colour ink sets to suit your work. The print width is 1,600mm, frequently used in textile and apparel applications. TS330-1600 is compatible with two types of RIP software for printing," RasterLink7", which is both easy to use and highly functional and "TxLink4 Lite", suitable for textile printing, and either can be selected at the time of purchase. 1: To fill in evenly with one colour 2: Compared to our conventional model TS55-1800 3: MAPS4: A function that reduces banding (horizontal stripes), colour irregularities, and glossy stripes by printing path boundaries in a gradation style. * 4: TS55-1800, Tiger-1800MkIII etc. 5: Blue, Magenta, Yellow and Black only 6: Optional items 7: NCU: A function that automatically detects the status of nozzles with a sensor and automatically cleans nozzles when a nozzle is found to be missing. 8: NRS: When there is a nozzle problem that cannot be solved by nozzle cleaning, the defective nozzle is automatically replaced by another nozzle to continue printing with stable image quality. 9: DAS: A function that automates dot position correction and feed amount correction, previously performed manually. *10: Supports iPhone. Android to be supported later. *11: Sb410 is fluorescent pink and fluorescent yellow only. *12: All colours of Sb411 and Sb410 are ECO PASSPORT certified by the Swiss-based Oeko-Tex International Community for environmental safety. ECO PASSPORT certification is the world's top safety standard that can meet not only Japanese regulations but also overseas regulations with stricter environmental requirements.
