Avery Dennison Launches new Asia Pacific Training Innovation Centre

“With total revenue of over $9 billion over 36,000 employees worldwide and operating in over 50 countries Avery Dennison was established in Australia in 1995. Since then Avery Dennison has trained 13,000 people throughout ANZ and this cutting edge training facility is the next step in the journey”, says Chris Kilgour, General Manager and Senior Director, Graphics Solutions Asia Pacific.

The first of its kind for Avery Dennison in Asia Pacific, the facility  will be used to support other Avery Dennison branches and customers  from all over the region. It will form a hub for cutting edge training, new product launches, webinars and virtual live events, as well as certified partner and installer events.

“With the industry facing an ongoing shortage of skilled labour, it is important that we use this facility to create pathways for people to enter this highly specialised segment of the industry,” says Jordan Leach, Business Director Graphics Solutions ANZ and ASEAN.

Based at its 5200 sqm distribution facility in Berrinba QLD the 300sqm training centre features a dedicated controlled production environment, with digital print, plotting and laminating equipment, utilising the latest in industry production technology.

The controlled environment also features a 150sqm main application floor, featuring two wet application floors with rib trax click flooring enabling the water to drain away underneath, and two high epoxy coated bays for dry application.

Hexa grid lighting is installed across the main application area creating an ideal environment for identifying any artifacts in the film during installation.

Large floor to ceiling sized window panels for architectural applications are mounted to the wall and can swing out at 90 degrees enabling application on both sides, as well as wall mounted vehicle panels for custom applications.

Peter Wright Technical Marketing Manager, Graphics Solutions ANZ says “the small group sessions will have multiple instructors on hand to provide feedback. Courses will vary in length and cater to different skill levels in the areas of Supreme Wrapping Film Training, Paint protection film installation training, and Automotive Window Tinting Training”

The Avery Dennison Certified Installer Program comprises three tiers, Certified Installation Partners, Partners, and Platinum Partners who work closely with Avery Dennison on R&D, projects and to win business to specification.

A flagship of the Avery Dennison Platinum Partners program is its ongoing relationship with Triple 8 Engineering and Red Bull Super Cars a partnership of 12 years.
