Roland DG Introduces Two new VersaSTUDIO Printers

Roland DG has announced the addition of two new printers to its VersaSTUDIO series of compact, easy-to-use printers. The BN2-30 eco-solvent integrated printer/cutter with a maximum material width of 736 mm (30 inches) and the BD-12 UV direct-to-object printer for items up to A4 size. Both products feature vibrant, detailed printing and a larger work area over their predecessors, enabling increased productivity and profitability.

“Since our founding in 1981, we have been encouraging people of diverse interests to take on new opportunities with our compact and easy-to-use digital devices. With the addition of these two new models to the VersaSTUDIO series, we are further strengthening our product lineup,” says Ryugo Nimura, President of Global Sales and Marketing at Roland DG.

The BN2-30 offers outstanding print quality plus precision contour cutting for creating graphics, photos, and text in any desired shape. With a maximum printing width of 736 mm (30 inches), the printer is compact enough to be operated in a limited space and combines excellent quality and productivity to quickly produce a wide variety of items, from original T-shirt graphic transfers, stickers and labels to posters and uniquely shaped displays.

The BD-12 UV flatbed printer is capable of high-definition direct printing on various objects and materials. It supports items up to A4 size and 102 mm (4 inches) in height. Using the optional rotary axis, the machine can also print on cylindrical objects such as bottles and lipsticks. The EUV5 ink is compatible with numerous materials, from soft goods such as fabric and leather to harder materials such as wood and plastics. Glass and metal can also be printed on with primer ink. A clear ink option also produces premium gloss or matte finishes and realistic textures, including 3D embossed effects. This versatile printer makes it easy to produce high-value customised items like smartphone cases, giftware, sports memorabilia, fashion accessories and cosmetic products with stunning colour and fine details.

The BN2-30 and BD-12 have print heads that produce high-definition output and offer multiple print modes ideal for different applications, yielding professional print results. All printer functions are managed from within the included Utility software, which the company touts as having easy-to-understand icons and intuitive, quick access to menu items. The printers come standard with FlexiDESIGNER VersaSTUDIO Edition software, which can be used for everything from design creation to printing. VersaWorks 7 is the latest output software with improved usability and support for Windows and macOS.

Roland DG Connect, a comprehensive connected platform that includes tools such as the operating status display and easy profit calculations, can be included with the printers. The platform includes proactive support to help prevent errors and contributes to an efficient and profitable business.

The BN2-30 and BD-12 include a complete range of productivity features and software, making them affordable for first-time users. They also have a comprehensive manufacturer's warranty and an optional maintenance contract.

“The BN2-30 and BD-12 enable anyone, including entrepreneurs, companies bringing out-sourced production in-house, educational institutions committed to STEAM education practices, and even those who have never used printers before to unleash their creativity and easily produce a wide variety of items,” Nimura says, “We will continue to expand the VersaSTUDIO series to deliver innovative solutions that support people's creative activities and business growth and encourage them to succeed in their new challenges.”
