Smartech showcases cutting-edge Print and Finishing Solutions at PacPrint 2025

Smartech has used PacPrint to launch an expanded portfolio of print and finishing technologies with a number of products making their Australian debut.

Headlining the stand is the new HP Latex R530, the latest fourth-generation hybrid printer featuring HP’s advanced Pixel Control technology. This enhancement delivers smoother gradations, sharper detail, and continuous tone output for both rigid and flexible materials.

Brett Wark, NSW National Sales Manager and National Product Manager, Smartech describes the HPR530 as  “HP’s best printer to date,” citing ease of use, minimal setup, and seamless media switching as key advantages. “With its hybrid architecture, the HP R530 offers flatbed and roll-to-roll capabilities in a single, compact footprint—making it ideal for space-conscious print service providers seeking workflow efficiency and superior print quality,” says Wark.

“The HP R530 represents an affordable entry point into HP’s latex platform, enabling print providers to move away from traditional UV systems with the benefits of water-based inks and sustainable production.”

Also on stand was the Jwei SG 1625 flatbed cutter, marking its official Australian debut at the show. This gear-driven system includes an auto tool changer supporting both knife and router tools, enabling unassisted switching for increased automation.

Wark says, “The cutter is positioned in the mid-range of our finishing lineup and features rugged construction tailored for Australian demands. While commercial installation won’t begin until 2026, we are actively taking orders. With more than 200 JWEI systems already in the market, we continue to invest in local service and support for the platform.”

Smartech has also launched a new MEFU laminator from China. This model offers an industrial-sized 1.7 x 3.2m bed, fixed installation height, and heat-assist rollers as standard. This helps combat silvering in laminated prints, especially for users of non-latex print systems.
