Friday, 16 September 2022 Graphic Art Mart launches ZERO, recyclable print media Graphic Art Mart is leading the charge in sustainable print by launching ZERO, a range of wide- format self- adhesive print films that are not only PVC-Free but recyclable locally in Australia. “This is a significant development and step forward for our industry as up until now we have seen PVC alternatives but nothing that has been able to fully close the loop in wide format print.” Says Mark Canavan, Marketing & Vendor Relations Manager, Graphic Art Mart Pty Ltd. “Sustainability has become an important value for many businesses and brands, yet there has been a huge disconnect with businesses championing their commitment to the environment but using print materials that are far from sustainable. ZERO gives environmentally conscious customers a choice and allows printers to offer clients solutions that are not only sustainable but deliver on quality and performance” ZERO is an initiative developed by Kirbyco and was first launched in New Zealand 2 years ago. “Our mission was to create a range of films that were not only PVC-Free, but also offered a genuine solution to the problem of enduring PVC plastic waste in landfill “says Denise Kirby, Founder of Kirbyco and developer of ZERO and the ZERO WASTE Recycling Program. “Our responsibility and commitment as a supplier is to ensure materials we promote as recyclable can actually be recycled locally. This is why we implemented a product stewardship scheme we manage ourselves to take back ZERO media. “Prints can easily be returned in prepaid bags or a collection booked and customers can be confident that the material will be processed correctly. Together, Graphic Art Mart and ZERO will be able to offer printers with UV, Latex and Eco Solvent machines an effective solution for waste and reduce the impact of printed media on the environment.
