Winners of the NZ Sign and Display Awards 2019 were recently announced at the NZSDA conference in Tauranga, with Auckland sign business Falcon Signs winning three gold medals and two silvers (including the People’s Choice award) and The Signshop Nelson winning three gold medals, two silvers and two bronze medals. West Auckland-based Falcon Signs took home three gold medals for: The People’s Choice Award; Sign Written Vehicles – Non Digital; and Custom Wrapped Vehicles. The company also won two silver medals. The Signshop Nelson received three gold medals for Sign Written Vehicles - Digital; Original In-house design; and Work by an Apprentice (Nick Lightfoot); as well as two silver and two bronze medals. Other gold medal winners included: Kustom Design Studio (2), Signtech the Signmasters (2) TruckSigns (2), Capitol Signs, Signbiz, South Island Screen Printers and Horton Signs. Toby Marsh of Signbiz in Christchurch was named Apprentice of the Year 2019. The NZ Sign and Display Awards is the flagship event for the NZSDA, which recognises and acknowledges outstanding design and craftsmanship across a broad range of signmaking methods and technologies.
