Hollywood stunts atop the Glebe Sydney Silo

To mark the start of the global press tour for The Fall Guy in Sydney, director David Leitch promoted the film with a larger-than-life, never-been-done-before stunt on top of the Glebe Island Silos, the largest billboard in the Southern Hemisphere.

Alongside producer Kelly McCormick, Leitch reunited with his Australian stunt team, who worked on the film. They marked the occasion with a display of stunt coordination and skill 34 metres above Sydney. Returning to the city where the film was shot, Leitch and his stunt team abseiled down the billboard and then performed a fight sequence.

Suzanne Stretton-Brown, Director of Marketing at Universal Pictures Australia & New Zealand, said of the activation, “Our ambition was to transform traditional OOH format with a bold PR activation. At 34 metres high, this billboard presented the perfect backdrop to unveil a dynamic action sequence and a unique opportunity to blend cinematic thrill with real-world spectacle, pushing the boundaries of what advertising can achieve.”

It was a market-first activation for oOh!media, providing the backdrop for the stunt with the blockbuster-sized billboard and playing a key role in ensuring access to the location and getting approval from the many stakeholders.

The activation also culminated in an exclusive media interview with Australia’s breakfast TV program Sunrise. Former Olympian and Sunrise host Matt Shirvington braved the heights to interview Leitch and McCormick.
