The neon inks were introduced in March via web streaming at swissQprint's factory in Switzerland, and showcased at virtual.drupa in April. Two other innovations were also introduced at those events – the speed model of the Karibu UV roll to roll printer; and the option for automatic double-sided printing with Karibu. The benefits of printing with neon inks can be seen in both normal and dark lighting - colours are brilliant in normal lighting and due to their florescence, become the focus of attention in dark light. Neon yellow and neon pink are printed using UV inks and can produce dazzling advertising posters, backlits, event wristbands, themed presentations and art installations, trade fair booths, POS displays, ceiling hangers and signage. To get started you will need a LED flatbed or roll-to-roll printer from swissQprint and enough free colour channels. Neon inks can be retrofitted at any time.
