Thursday, 28 November 2024 Briner Triples Output with Flatbed Printer Upgrade Briner Signs in Victoria has installed a new swissQprint Kudu UV LED flatbed printer, effectively tripling its output capacity. The printer, the second of its kind in Victoria and one of only four in Australia, has been operational since mid-October. It has already had a measurable impact on Briner's capacity to produce its broad product range en masse. Briner's new printer can print up to 304 square metres per hour, a marked improvement from its previous machine, which reached a maximum of 50 square metres per hour. It features ten colour channels, a 3.2x2m print area, 30 print heads, and a maximum resolution of 1350 DPI. Additionally, Briner now has the capacity to create vibrant signage using neon inks, which were previously unavailable to clients. Con Tsakonas, Managing Director at Briner, says the new technology will not result in additional costs being passed on to its clients but rather greater efficiency regarding delivery and installation time. "We've been really impressed already by the output of product we're now able to achieve for our clients, which is an enormous benefit," says Tsakonas, who purchased the machine in June of this year. "Our clients are predominantly in real estate, from high-end to master planned estates, so the requirement to fulfil their needs varies quite a bit; we're able to well and truly stick to schedule and increase our capacity at the same time; that's where the value is for our clients and us."Briner says the printer will enable it to fast-track the launch and distribution of an entirely new product offering, which is set to provide a solution for 'one-and-done' signage. "We're just about to launch a new product, a 600mm by 450mm A-frame, designed to allow for foam board inserts, eliminating the 'stripping' process and removing double handling. The client will be able to change the message on the A-frame without needing to return it to Briner and can have multiple designs for a single A-frame," adds Tsakonas. "The new printer is going to allow us to produce these inserts at incredibly high volumes, so we're excited to see how that's received by the real estate industry in particular." Suppliers of the swissQprint machines in Australia, Pozitive Sign & Graphic Supplies, said they were pleased to have worked with Briner on the successful delivery and installation. They anticipate companies will follow suit in adopting new technologies. "It's exciting to see Briner take this step forward. The Kudu offers a combination of speed, versatility, and precision that will allow them to meet increasing demand while elevating the quality of their output," says Phil Trumble, Managing Director of Pozitive. "One of the key advantages of the Kudu is the reliability it offers compared to other machines. With higher speeds, greater print quality, and dependable performance, Briner now has the confidence to handle larger jobs without compromising deadlines or consistency. "At Pozitive, we aim to provide tailored technology solutions that align with our customers' goals. Supporting Briner with the Kudu installation reflects our shared focus on long-term growth and delivering exceptional service,” concludes Trumble.
