ASGA releases handy Calculators for Signage Businesses

ASGA has released several handy calculators to help businesses save time and ensure accuracy across some standard job processes.
The new resources, which are available in the ASGA member portal at signs.org.au, include:
•    Weight of Materials Calculator
•    Estimated Lightbox Brightness Calculator
•    Max Lengths for Hook Up Cables Calculator
•    Concrete Calculator
•    Expansion of Materials Calculator
•    Viewing Distances for Text Calculator

ASGA President, Mick Harrold, says the calculators are a tool designed to help ASGA Members save time and make it easier to deliver great work and comply with an increasingly regulated environment.

“Calculating the various elements involved in a job can take a lot of time,” Harold says, “and with the wide variety of work handled by many businesses in the industry, it’s not uncommon for even seasoned professionals to have to pause to try and remember the right way to calculate things – like how much concrete is needed for a particular purpose, how different materials expand, or what a finished product might weigh.

“With these newly-released calculators, you can cut that investment in time and resources and make the process easier as they’ve been designed specifically for our sector, as a handy ‘ready reference’ tool to help industry professionals make good calculations, quickly.”

The calculators add to the member resources, including HR, employment, and legal resources and templates; the Workplace Advice Line; WHS documentation, regulation, and technical support; a WHS Advice Line; and webinar recordings.

“Businesses across our sector are involved in producing a very diverse range of products, and business owners all bring different skills and experience to their roles,” Harrold says.

“Our job as the industry association is to support those businesses – whether they are small or large, short on staff or well-resourced, highly experienced or just starting out – to deliver good, consistent and compliant work and to do so in a way which is efficient and profitable. That’s how we build a stronger industry.”

ASGA members can access the calculators in their member profile on the ASGA website.
